The naming of names also has the danger of not mentioning other good restaurants. That will soon be made good but one I would like to mention: beach tent / restaurant or Chiringuito Palm Beach, the 2nd from the Carrefour in Estepona. The cook has worked in several restaurants, learned a lot and developed further. A starter of raw salmon with ginger and coriander is very tasty and I can personally recommend the fish dishes. Very good price / quality ratio in a place where you would not expect immediately.

Mieke and I treated ourselves to a short holiday with culinary surprises. First slept two nights in the luxury Bed & Breakfast La Posada del Torcal (9.5 at Booking) in Villanueva de la Concepcion. This used to be a special hotel for the Rich and Famous (Tom Cruise and so on …) who landed with the helicopter at the special heli landing site. After a complete renovation, Mark and Corine Boskamp have given it a unique atmosphere, so that you feel right at home. The view is phenomenal and the rooms very pleasant. On a Monday, Wednesday and Saturday night, Mark cooks a menu of 3 courses that has been announced in advance. And he does that very well! Cooking with love for a hobby for years has produced a quality that you can taste unmistakably. Corine is the perfect hostess and the pleasure they derive from realizing their dream is contagious. Beautiful surroundings and the nearby Torcal area with its special rock formations of 150 million years old, is a perfect hiking area.

And then to the culinary paradise Málaga. Through the nice bits of stefaniavanlieshout.com we have come to know the roof terrace of the AC Palacio, nowadays Mariott Hotel where you can eat at a reasonable price while you can enjoy the enormous panorama of Malaga. For us, the biggest culinary surprise this time was in the extremely culinary tapas bars and restaurants. This creates a high culture of good food, while you can stay on weight. We enjoyed this time, among others, from Taberna Uvedoble and KGB (Kisko García Bar). They invite (star) top chefs to add something beautiful to the special card for a month. Star food for tapas prices …. that’s what we love ….

And if you like Italian food, Osteria Mura Mura is a must! Rarely tasted so nice Italian. The portions are huge and the nicest form of food is always ordering 1 dish that you eat together. Just a few after each other, but keep a hole for the Tiramisu …
